Volkswagen still wins award of the International Engine of the Year .

Like every year, the publication Engine Technology International awards its prizes. It is not for car of the year, but engine of the year. The ranking is divided into eleven categories, added to the overall classification. The jury, composed of 65 specialized journalists of 32 countries has rendered its verdict. For the second consecutive year, the Volkswagen 1.4 TSI engine collects the most points overall. The German group is also fairly well represented in most categories ...

Below, the engine awards:

Best New Engine of the World: Fiat 1.4 Turbo Multiair, ahead of the Ferrari's new V8 and the 1.2 TSI of Volkswagen.

Green Engine of the Year: Toyota Hybrid 1.8 (Auris / Prius), ahead of the Fiat 1.4 Turbo Multiair and dual supercharged 1.4 TSI Volkswagen.

Best Performance Engine: 6.2 V8 AMG front of the 3.8 Flat6 Porsche 911 GT3 / RS GT3 and the BMW in-line 6 twin turbo.

Less than 1 liter: the 3-cylinder 1.0 Toyota is followed by the 0.8 diesel engine of the Smart Fortwo and three cylinder turbo 1.0 of the Smart, but original of Mitsubishi

1 liter to 1.4 liter: twin supercharged version of the 1.4 TSI Volkswagen takes the first place, and the version with a single turbo the third. Between the two Fiat places its 1.4 Turbo Multiair

1.4 liter to 1.8 liter: BMW and PSA are placed first with the 1.6 turbo of the Cooper S and the 207 RC (among others). A powerful engine that is followed by the 1.8 installed in Toyota Prius, and the 1.8 TFSI Audi
