Mercedes CLS 63 AMG as Police Car.

Mercedes is a partner of Fashion Week in New York and held to celebrate this great meeting of fashion by launching a funny initiative. The aim? Arrest people very well dressed with the new CLS 63 AMG !

The CLS AMG is decorated like a police car, but it is not really a patrol banal: the Fashion Force, a brigade launched by Mercedes with a purpose: drive through the streets of New York and will select pedestrians who will be the best dressed in town. They will be arrested by the new CLS 63 AMG patrol and will be offered privileged access to the Fashion Week as a reward for their perfect style.

Directed by Karl Lagerfeld, the new Pirelli calendar devotes the Greek mythology and goddesses.
The 38th edition of the famous Pirelli calendar, dedicated beauty, youth and veneration with paintings of gods, myths and ancient heroes. The 36 photos were taken in the Paris studio of the designer Karl Lagerfeld.
The 21 models selected are  five male models: the American Brad Kroenig, and Garret Neff the British and the French Davis Jake Giabiconi Baptist and Sebastian
Jondeau. The other goddesses of the schedule is the actress Julianne Moore,
American Heidi Mount and Erin Wasson (also found in the edition
2005), Australian Abbey Lee Kershaw (which began with 2010 Calendar)
Austrian Strubegger Iris, the Brazilian Isabeli Fontana (already present
editions in 2005 and 2009), Canadian Daria Werbowy (calendar 2009),
the Danish Freja Beha Erichsen, the Indian Lakshmi Menon, the Italian Bianca
Balti and Elisa Sednaouiles, Jamaican Jeneil Williams, the Dutch Lara
Stone (also in this edition 2009), the Polish Magdalena Frackowiak
and Anja Rubik, Natasha Poly and Russian.

An Aston Martin saved from oblivion for $317,000

An Aston Martin DB2 / 4 Mk III Drophead convertible dating from 1958 was found after to have slept thirty years under a tarp.

While initial estimates ranged between £ 80,000 and £ 100,000, between $123,000 and $154,000, it was finally sold last Sept. 7 for the sum of £ 206,000, $317,000 - to a British collector at the auction " Barons British Heritage "at Sandown Park in Great Britain.
The new owner of the old English is now preparing to restore his jewel.

Lamborghini LP670SV by Underground Racing .

An engine with a body !

Originally, the SuperVeloce is already a supercharged version of the LP670. However, the American preparer Underground Racing has held that the beast of Lamborghini was not enough beastly. To do this, Underground Racing has fattened the 6.5L V12 from the LP670SV by adding to it a twin turbo. Needless to say the bull is transfigured.
Although it is easy to think that the car exceeds blithely 1000hp, no data is advanced by the preparer. Only a video get to enjoy us of the technical optimization, and of the rumbling, howling, roar of the engine.

Lamborghini LP670SV by Underground Racing

Lamborghini, $350,000 went up in smoke !

Previously evoked few weeks ago, problems of the Murcielago were realized in New York, Brooklyn borough. The recall campaign concerned a default about the fuel tank which can involve a fire. Today, it's done ! Although the facts are not precisely known, it is strongly likely that it was an immediate consequence of this fuel tank problem.

We say this car was stolen before the fire start by two men, but no more information on this fact for this moment.

Mini's challenge will not be taken up.

The representative of Porsche USA will not participate in the challenge by Mini launched a few days ago. Indeed, Detlev von Platen does not have to run a Porsche for nothing or for a marketing coup. When a Porsche takes the track, it is to push their own limits, or to battle against the big ! Detlev von Platen answered to his counterpart James L. McDowell in a letter rather well formulated :

Mini launches a challenge to Porsche...

Mini has launched a challenge to Porsche on lands of Uncle Sam. In a video we discover James L. McDowell, vice president of Mini USA, inviting Detlev von Platen, Porsche counterpart, to a face-to-face on the Road Atlanta track. Date of confrontation: June 21 Porsche has not yet taken up the gauntlet.


The opponents are clearly advertised. On one side the Mini Cooper S and its 172 hp, 1215 g and 140 mph top speed. On the other Porsche 911 Carrera S 385 hp-strong, 1425 kg and 190 mph in v-max, for some data technical specifications.

In the video, James L. McDowell also reminders that he worked eight years at Porsche and has had 12 Porsche. He says: "There is no doubt that Porsche builds sports cars and Porsche builds fast cars. But there is something I do not know: a Mini can beat it a Porsche? ".

Gladiatorial combat? If he loses he agrees to wear a T-shirt in public indicating having suffered a defeat. In the case of a successful reverse the situation. And like any good duel, choice is left to the two bosses to determine their drivers. We wonder if Porsche will meet the challenge ...

 

Audi A1, a demonstration that finished on the roof !

During a demonstration of the Audi A1 in Belgium, the demonstrator has finished on the roof by trying to manoeuvrer on a quaterpipe. Although the 300 previous demonstrations have been conducted well, the 301st ended badly ! The demonstrator trying to turn on the quaterpipe, has badly negotiated the turn and two of its wheels were into empty space... which ended with a somersault ! Not awful for the image of the brand with the four rings!
