Audi chose Eva Padberg for the A1 campaign.

In these times of commercial ads for the promotion of the A1, Audi wins Eva Padberg's charms to represent the all-new Audi model.

The famous german fashion model is not to her first collaboration with an automotive brand. In the past, she posed for Kia (the Rio model) and Mercedes ( the CL and CLC models). Today , Eva puts her charms at the disposal of Audi, being the A1 muse.

Peking-Paris, a mythic rally of 14,500 km of hassle.

More than hundred-years old, this awesome rally-raid will take place in September 10th, 2010. As indicated by its name, the start of this rally will begin to Peking. 107 Challengers of 23 nationalities will cover more than 14,500 km through twelve countries. As if it was not enough difficult, the trip does with classic cars like the previous years.
Historically, the first rally registred 5 participants, the Prince Borghèse won this race with an Itala 7L Grand Prix. For remember, first participants had not either, of course GPS nor maps ! There was few roads and they only fitted out a compass, the sun and their brains !
The other of two cars which went back to finish line was the Spyker of Mister Du Taillis.
Today, the route of this "expedition" changed little compared with the first rally road. Participants will drive across twelve countries, China, Mogolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Uzbekhistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, to finish in France where will stand the finish line in Paris.
This year again, exceptionnal classic cars will be there, among others, we could see some Rolls Royce Ghost and phantom, an Aston Martin DB5, Porsche 356C, Itala 40, a Studebaker President, Lagonda, La France, Bentley, Ford ...

Peking-Paris Rally

Goodwood, soon starting of historical race.

This mythic race and show will start in July 02, during three days. The best racers and gentleman drivers are in confrontation on the runway tirelessly with the best of the best cars irrespective of generation.

Day by day, the automakers announce their participation to this race, and today, it is the time of Mini whose will show its Countryman and the Mini E (electrical); this last will participate to the hill climb race.

Previously, BMW had announced the presence of the M3 GT2 feat by Jeff Koons, which ran the 24 hours of Le Mans, the 328 Touring winning the 1940 Mille Miglia race, the new 5 GT Series and to finish a Z4 35is S-Drive. In marge of the brand, Alpina will bring their B5 Biturbo.
Mc Laren confirmed too the officially showing of the MP4-12C, and will run the hill climb race.
To finish with a british manufacturer, Jaguar will challenge with a XKR special series called XKR Goodwood Special and produces in limited edition. This XKR should have more powerful, the V8 5,0L engine would develop 530hp and 699Nm.

Of course, it is a no exhaustive list of car manufacturers and models present during this three days event, many prestigious cars will be there for this mythic race and static show.

24 Hours of Le Mans, a triple of honor.

 Following 24 hours very eventful race, Audi ranks its 3 R15+ TDI to the first 3 places. Despite qualifying in the lead of the race for Peugeot, the French were unable to withstand the highly selective endurance race. It's a pity, because the three official Peugeot and the Peugeot of Oreca's team occupied the first four places at the start of the race. But as the hours of racing, the french engines did not resist and one hour from the end , the last Peugeot is constrained to back to the pits, for never to leave them. Audi therefore wins with its three cars, 10 years after his first attempt and his first victories.

In LMP2, HPD is the team that wins the category.

In GT1, Saleen is the lucky winner of the category; lucky because the car was rather slow compared to its rivals, Ford GT, among others. In fact, it finished behind the GT2 ! Only three cars have rallied the finish line in the GT1 class (Saleen, Corvette Luc Alphand team, Aston Martin Young AMR).

Finally, in GT2, Porsche is back with the team's Felberayr Proton rises in the lead, ahead of the Ferrari Fambacher Hankook team and another Porsche team BMS Scuderia Italia SPA.

The fifties talented Formula 1 driver Nigel Mansell had to give up after a violent exit of track early in the race aboard his prototype Ginetta-Zytek N.5, but fortunately without big severity, slight concussion.

24 Hours Of Le Mans

A new Morgan at Pebble Beach ( optimized details )

Next 15 August at the Concours d'Elegance in Pebble Beach, Morgan will unveil its new model. It will be a coupe, the EvaGT.
According to Morgan, EvaGT is stylistically inspired by Frazer-Nash and Bristol of after the war.
Like them, the EvaGT boasts a blend of performance and luxury.
Another common point: the steel use being rationed, they used aluminum. However, the EvaGT will be made in this metal.
Moreover, like the latters, it uses a BMW engine, the 3l twin turbo 306hp. It is mated to a manual or automatic 6-speed gearbox.
With a weight of 1 250kg, it reached 60mph in 4.5 seconds and passes the 170mph. Its consumtion is to 7.06l per 60 miles and emits 200g of CO2.
Morgan is expected to produce a first batch of 100 copies, from 2011.

 

24 Hours of Le Mans 2010, a start like the olden.

While this was just a rumor until today, the ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) has just confirmed that for the 2010 edition of Les 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans) the starting would be like the former times ... a herringbone start, one side of the track, cars and the other side the drivers. However, the start procedure will only apply to start the warm up lap. Too bad because we won't see the madness overtaking from the real start of the race like the racing of yesteryear.

The race will take place on 12 and 13 June 2010, early departure at 14.15 and the real at 15h.

Infiniti G37 won the "Plus X Award".

This model has just been awarded a prize at the ceremony Plus X Awards in Germany. Faced with the Audi A5 convertible or the BMW 3 Series convertible, among others, the Infiniti G37 Convertible is presented as a real smart alternative.

Infiniti G37

Gumball 3000 event.

The new edition of the Gumball 3000 rally brought together still as many supercars and exotic models past a growing crowd with the seasons.

After leaving London on May 2, aboard their dressed stickers cars, they joined Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm, through the beautiful roads of Sweden before arriving in mid-day on the Swedish track where the public waited them.

Goodbye Europe and towards the American continent aboard a 757 chartered for the occasion, for a landing in Bangor (Maine.USA) before enjoy again their supercars and rally Boston. Towards to Quebec city in Canada for the 120 participants met at the Canadian border by the quebec police in order to constrain their identity, driving licenses and vehicle compliance with Canadian laws! Quebec authorities say there will be no overflow at home ... I do not think these statements will hamper their overflowing evening with Xzibit (pimp my ride), Sharam, Jade Jagger (daughter of Mick), DJ Mugg, David Hasselhoff, the skateboarder Tony Hawk and perhaps 50 cent at the disco "The Dagobert" of Quebec city.

Next steps, Toronto and final to New York.
