Lotus Europa : end of production.

After only four years of production, the Lotus Europa is being forced into retirement. Sold less than 300 copies, the Europa has always lived in the shadow of its sister, the Lotus Elise.
Lotus wanted with this model, "gentrify" the Elise by providing superior comfort, roominess and more equipment. The result is a less fun car to drive, because heavier and less powerful due to the increased weight.
More expensive and not better finished than an Elise, the Lotus Europa has not found its clientele, too far from the GT standards.
However, it is odds on that it will have a better life in the bosom of vintage cars club... less there are copies, more there are demands !
