Nissan and Dongfeng launch a new automotive brand.

There is seven years that this joint venture exists and manufactures cars, and now will exist under the name of Qi Chen or Venucia for the Western market.
The Qichen or Venecia will be equipped with engines and components Nissan.

Qichen, who initially will produce a cheap mid-range model, should enable the joint venture between Dongfeng and Nissan achieve its goal of selling one million vehicles per year in the Chinese market.
The brand was launched at a ceremony marking the construction of the two millionth vehicle built jointly by Nissan and Dongfeng in China. During the first eight months of the year, the joint venture has sold over 434,000 cars, up 35.5% over one year.

"The launch of the new brand addresses the need for diversification of the Chinese market," said General Manager of Dongfeng Nissan, Fumiaki Matsumoto, and " the target is specificaly consumers in mainland China, "added the spokesman for the Japanese, Yuichi Nakagawa.
