Ford has unveiled its new version of the F150 Harley Davidson, and the novelty lies under the hood. Ford has installed the V8 6.2 of the SVT Raptor version with 411hp. Other elements distinguish the beast from another F150 as the chrome grille, retractable running boards, 22 inch alloy rims, Harley Davidson logos on the front fenders and on the truck. Inside, everything is black with some crumpled aluminum inserts. On the side of the interior equipment, there is a navigation system by voice with a wide screen instrumentation, a rearview camera, heated rear seats and a remote start system.
Needless to say this version Harley Davidson is at the top of the range F150.

New Ford Explorer: ready for trips.

After weeks of teaser, Ford finally revealed fully its Explorer. Eagerly anticipated 4x4 fans, the new Ford Explorer reveals itself aesthetically successful, and features lines near future Land Rover and is in the air time ... both cities and fields 4x4.

On board, too, the Explorer marks a real leap forward in design and layout. Ford also intends to position its new Explorer as an alternative to the BMW X5 or Audi Q7, and promises a flawless finish, which was far from being the case with previous models. Always planned for seven occupants, the interior of the Explorer can become a real ship with its second and third retractable row seats.

Standard equipment is very complete from the basic version, with among other LED headlights, USB connectivity, four 12V sockets. Heated leather seats with lumbar adjustment, rearview camera and installation HiFi 12-speakers ... for premium versions.

For the engines , Ford installed under the hood of the Explorer a V6 3.5 Ti-VCT 290hp registering a gain of concommation 20%. Ford also provided a 4-cylinder EcoBoost 237 hp.

Ford against IRS Services ...

In a dispute between Ford and the IRS (U.S. treasury services), justice delivered its verdict in favour of administration. The automotive manufacturer has lost in this conflict no less than $ 445 million.


The case goes back to many years. Indeed, In the late 90s, Ford is accused by the IRS for not having paid all his taxes over a period from 1983 to 1994. Anxious to quickly process the case to avoid additional interests, Ford therefore acquitted the amounts claimed, including interest.

Some time later, the US Tax Services realize that Ford has paid too much, and give back a part of the money. But meanwhile, the money deposited on a sequestrated account has grown thanks to interests... Not exactly a trifle for them, since the amount of interest that the administration has maintained, amounted to 445 million.

Then, Ford wants to recover the interests in question, based on a law on firms in this direction. But then, the IRS's lawyers have put forward a detailed unstoppable: the law applies between two companies, but not between the federal government and a company ... ! Too Bad for Ford who would need some cash in this critical period.

Mercury is soon beheaded !

The U.S. carmaker Ford could soon abandon one of its remaining three brands, Mercury, according to a person familiar with the matter : "Our plans have not changed for Mercury," said a Ford spokesman, Mark Truby. But "we are constantly evaluating our business, and if things change in the future, we will notify".
According to a source close to the folder, the CEO of Ford Alan Mulally, has reportedly convinced the president of the board of directors of the manufacturer, Bill Ford and his cousin Elena Ford, heiress like him of the group's founder, the interest of the abandonment of that make.

A decision could be taken by the governing board in July.

Since the beginning of the year, Ford sold 32,552 Mercury cars in the U.S., an increase of almost 20% over a year. The brand, launched in 1939, represents only 5.5% of group sales (excluding the Volvo brand, sold to Chinese, Geely).
The stop of this brand, which includes several models similar to those produced under the Ford brand, would signal a new step in the simplification of the group.

Since 2007, Ford has already sold its British brands Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover, before the transfer of Volvo end of March.

Ford reveals a first outline of his future star model: the Explorer.

Scheduled for early 2011, this fifth opus will attempt to revive the golden age of this model that long was the best selling SUV in the United States as well as one of the most distribute vehicles to the Uncle Sam lands.

Under the hood, the manufacturer to the blue oval should equip this new Explorer with a four cylinder petrol EcoBoost 2.0 when the current version just makes do with greedy V6 and V8.

Unlike his elders, this new Explorer will be based not on a platform of 4WD but on that of the touring car Taurus. It will play therefore more than ever the card of the crossover, including between the very square Flex and the sporting Edge, while adopting a style strongly adventurer. A good argument to succeed his come-back, after two generations that had not been turning heads.
