Ferrari FF finally unveiled.

At noon, Ferrari has just lifted the veil on the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti. Surprise, it will look like a "shooting break", characterized by an endless hood on the front and a back squat, the stroke of a pen reminiscent of the BMW Z3 coupe. Ferrari announces a reduce consumption to 15.4L/100km and 360g of CO2.
The unique AWD system is meant intelligent by transferring power independently according to the conditions of adhesion of each wheel.
The FF 4.91m long, 1.95m wide and 1.38m high  weighs "only" 1780kg, the weight is distributed to 47% front and 53% rear.
This unprecedented shooting break drawn by Pininfarina will present at the Geneva Motor Show, will nevertheless it can be ordered from May 2011 for a delivery  at the end of this year.

Ferrari 458 Italia: End of the carnage.

 

Ferrari has officially confirmed the design flaw of the 458 Italia causing fire to the car.

The problem has been located in adhesives for the thermal protection of the wheel arches. Indeed, the alliance of glue, high heat and heavy use of the vehicle can cause a deformation of the plastic, leading to a fire of the engine.

The 1248 Ferrari 458 Italia throughout the world have been recalled to correct the problem, and Ferrari also announced they will offer a new 458 Italia to owners whose cars have caught fire.

New Ferrari Store in New York

The Ferrari Store in New York officially opens its doors today, unveiling a retail space offering a range of branded apparel and many different Ferrari brand products. The space of 200 square meters is located at the corner of Park Ave and 55th Street and a few steps from Madison Avenue. This is for the Prancing Horse brand its 37th store in the world and, specifically, its fifth in the U.S. after those of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Miami.


A private event for handpicked guests will be held tonight to celebrate the opening of this store in New York.
Throughout the day, on Park Avenue and 55th Street, the New Yorkers will have the opportunity to see two cars being in the limelight. It will be a 1959 California and a 1984 GTO. Also there the last Ferrari, the 458 Italia, California, 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTO. Note that the development program of Ferrari shops has for objetcif 60 outlets over the next two years in Europe, America and the Middle and Far East.

Ferrari 599 Fiorano Spider at Pebble Beach.

 
Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari president, comes to formalize the presentation of the 599 Fiorano Spider version to the Concours d' Elegent of Pebble Beach, like Morgan announced a few days ago with the EvaGT.
Although it is not yet confirmed by Ferrari, the 599 Spider will likely have a rocking hard roof like on the 575 Superamerica and some other specific elements model . The name of this version is not stopped, but Luca wants an emotional name.
Like previous versions, it will be sold in limited numbers and presented as a priority to regular customers to the brand. No price is announced, but it should not be the primary concern of customers !

Ferrari 599 Fiorano Spider

Back to a 6-cylinder in a Ferrari ...

Luca Di Montezemolo, the boss of the stratospheric brand Ferrari, announced to the british journal Autocar, it would possible that Ferrari comes out a 6 cylinder in a close futur, only to decrease the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions. But it is not synonymous with loss powerful ! He reminders that Ferrari had between others 6-cyliners in the past, so why not today !

The next Ferrari will not lose their soul; "Our cars are there to enjoy and we have to maintain this," he said.

Luca di Montezemolo also confirmed the V12 Hydrid will be produced, and Ferrari works hard for this, but this hybrid system will not extend to the V8 version. Ferrari realises continually improvements in the engines technology, innovation through the race dept, like the KERS, the brake regeneration system, which will be adapted to road cars, as a priority to the V12 hybrid. A V8 can be so efficient than an hybrid for the fuel consumption, CO2 emission, thanks to the hard work of engine ingeneers.
