Luca Di Montezemolo, the boss of the stratospheric brand Ferrari, announced to the british journal Autocar, it would possible that Ferrari comes out a 6 cylinder in a close futur, only to decrease the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions. But it is not synonymous with loss powerful ! He reminders that Ferrari had between others 6-cyliners in the past, so why not today !
The next Ferrari will not lose their soul; "Our cars are there to enjoy and we have to maintain this," he said.
Luca di Montezemolo also confirmed the V12 Hydrid will be produced, and Ferrari works hard for this, but this hybrid system will not extend to the V8 version. Ferrari realises continually improvements in the engines technology, innovation through the race dept, like the KERS, the brake regeneration system, which will be adapted to road cars, as a priority to the V12 hybrid. A V8 can be so efficient than an hybrid for the fuel consumption, CO2 emission, thanks to the hard work of engine ingeneers.
